DAB Family Affairs Committee’ s expectations for the Budget

The new budget would be announced soon. The Family Affairs Committee of the DAB held a petition and put forward a number of expectations related to family affairs, hoping to cater to the needs of different families. The suggestions were as follows:

• Set up a tax allowance for hiring foreign domestic helpers

• Increase the child allowance under tax assessment

• Introduce children's healthcare vouchers

• Set up a childcare allowance

• Introduce student travel discounts

• Introduce subsidy for school children’s eye examination and purchase of glasses

• Enhance family in crisis support services

• Enhance support for SEN children
