DAB strongly denounced Pelosi's visit to Taiwan

August 2, 2022

(from left) DAB LegCo members Edward Lau, Holden Chow, Chan Hok Fung and Ben Chan protested against Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan at the U.S. Consulate General Hong Kong & Macau on Aug 3, 2022

The DAB firmly opposed and strongly condemned Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi's visit to Taiwan. The visit severely violated the one-China principle and three Sino-US Joint Communiques, grossly infringed on China's national sovereignty and territorial integrity, and sent a wrong signal to “Taiwan independence” separatist forces. The Central Government has clearly and repeatedly expressed its concern and firm opposition to the visit, yet Pelosi insisted on making the visit, once again proving that the U.S. is a destabilizing force undermining peace in the Taiwan Strait.

The DAB stood with the 1.4 billion Chinese people, and fully supported the Central Government’s stance, to safeguard our nation's sovereignty, security and development interests. We would not allow anyone or forces to invade or alienate any part of China's sacred territory. The DAB supported the Chinese Government and military in taking all necessary measures to counteract against Pelosi's wrongdoing. All consequences arising therefrom must be fully borne by the U.S.
