A fire broke out in New Lucky House on Jordan Road, resulting in many casualties and a large number of residents being affected and required to be evacuated. Edward Leung served the Yau Tsim Mong community for many years, and he stated that DAB was active in providing assistance and liaising with hotels to provide free rooms for residents affected by the fire. Hotels which provided assistance included, Hilton Garden Inn Mongkok, The Mira Hotel, Holiday Inn Express Hong Kong Mongkok, Travelodge Kowloon, One Dundas Serviced Apartments.
Edward Leung thanked the hotels for their assistance. His team would be in close contact with the District Offices to help affected residents.
