Today, the DAB Central Committee held a meeting to discuss how our members on the Election Committee would vote in the upcoming election for Chief Executive of the HKSAR.
The DAB believes that as Hong Kong faces numerous political, economic and livelihood challenges, Hong Kong requires a new Chief Executive that will “stand by what is right and strive for results”. The new Chief Executive will have to solve deeply-rooted problems in our society and face the strong competition of our globalized world.
The DAB Central Committee believes that Ms. Carrie Lam is the candidate who fits the most with our political ideals, hopes and ethos. Her strong administrative experience, her courage and sense of responsibility allow her to face the difficult problems ahead. The political platform that she ran on is relatively holistic and realistic, a platform that reflects her long years of experience in government and in policymaking. Her platform also shows that she is ready to proactively use some of our financial reserves to help solve the most urgent issues in our city.
The DAB Central Committee has unanimously decided to support Ms. Carrie Lam for the next Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
